On Wednesday, August 5, Ukrainian retailers carried out another update of price tags on essential goods. Compared to the previous day, changes in the cost of basic products occurred in the «Silpo», ATB, Novus, and «Auchan» chains: milk became cheaper, and prices for eggs and vegetable oil were adjusted.
Bakery products and cereals: stability and favorable offers
The situation with bread remains stable. No sharp price jumps have been recorded in the bakery products category. The most affordable offer on the market remains the portioned slices in the «Silpo» chain.
A similar picture is observed with buckwheat. The cost of the product in most retail chains has stabilized. For the second day in a row, the «Silpo» chain offers the most favorable price for buckwheat.
Eggs and dairy products: price dynamics
The situation in the egg segment is non-uniform. The lowest price threshold per dozen eggs when purchased individually was recorded in «Auchan» hypermarkets. However, in the «Silpo» chain, the price for the «Pashot» item increased: if yesterday the price was 39.59 UAH, today it reached 43.55 UAH.
In the dairy category, changes affected the ATB chain. Here, pasteurized milk in a 450 g package became cheaper. In other major chains, price tags on dairy products remained unchanged compared to the previous day.
Vegetable oil: end of promotions and base prices
The lowest cost per bottle of refined oil with a volume of less than half a liter is offered in «Auchan». At the same time, the promotion on «Svoya liniya» brand oil ended in the ATB chain, causing the price of this product to return to the base level.
