The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has expressed a decisive protest in connection with recent groundless accusations and threats from the Belarusian leadership. The occasion for the escalation of diplomatic tension was an incident involving a truck in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, which Minsk was quick to attribute to the Ukrainian side without any real evidence.

Reaction of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry

Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgiy Tyхий voiced the harsh position of the department after the charge d'affaires ad interim of Ukraine was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk. The Belarusian side made statements about alleged intentional actions by Kyiv aimed at dragging Belarus into the armed conflict and openly threatened to take adequate response measures. In response, Kyiv emphasized the absurdity of such statements, calling them part of an information campaign to escalate the situation in the region.

Context of Minsk's Complicity in Aggression

In their official commentary, Ukrainian diplomats recalled the real role of the Republic of Belarus in the current war. Official Kyiv emphasizes that Minsk is an accomplice to Russian aggression, providing comprehensive support to Russian troops. In particular, border and specialized agencies have repeatedly recorded facts of technical assistance to Russian attacks, including the retransmission of signals for drones during massive strikes on Ukrainian cities.

Attempts to Shift Responsibility

The Ukrainian side regards Minsk's actions as a deliberate attempt to shift responsibility for the consequences of Russian aggression and to form an artificial image of Ukraine as a source of threats. Diplomats stated that Kyiv does not intend to tolerate such insinuations, and using such incidents to justify further support for the Russian military machine is completely unacceptable.
