Fozzy Group Forced to Implement Massive Staff Reductions Due to Russian Attacks

The Ukrainian retail group Fozzy Group has announced upcoming large-scale organizational changes and staff reductions that will take effect on November 1, 2026. The holding's management was forced to take this step due to heavy losses suffered by the company's infrastructure as a result of massive shelling and attacks by Russia between August 1 and September 25.

Scale of Infrastructure Destruction

Over the past two months alone, Russian strikes have completely destroyed or severely damaged more than 20 facilities belonging to Fozzy Group. As a result of these barbaric attacks, the holding has lost a significant part of its logistics infrastructure and large inventories, making the maintenance of previous operational volumes economically impossible and critically costly.

Company representatives emphasize that in the current wartime realities, management is forced to rigidly review resource allocation priorities. Some strategic projects and current tasks have been temporarily frozen, the holding is completely abandoning certain business areas, while trying to find innovative anti-crisis solutions to maintain its market position.

While official statements from Fozzy Group management focus on planned restructuring and optimization starting November 1, 2026, industry analysts and independent experts diverge in assessing the scale of the upcoming layoffs. According to some sources, the cuts will exclusively affect office personnel, IT departments, and the MAUDAU marketplace, while other experts suggest a deeper crisis impact on the entire retailer ecosystem, including retail chains and distribution centers.

Future Plans and Prospects

Despite heavy personnel losses and destruction, Fozzy Group management assures clients and partners of the continuation of stable operational activities. The holding continues to selectively open new retail outlets, restore damaged facilities, and completely rebuild logistics chains to ensure uninterrupted supplies of food and essential goods.

To implement these tasks, the company continues active hiring, but the recruitment focus has shifted towards supermarket employees, distribution warehouses, and manufacturing enterprises throughout Ukraine. Earlier, the holding had already introduced a temporary moratorium on hiring and canceled bonus payments in August, but the current stage of optimization is of a deeper and more systemic nature.
