In response to the massive migration crisis engulfing the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, France has decided to radically tighten control at its border with Madrid. Thanks to established collaboration, more than 40,000 people who attempted to enter Ceuta have been returned to the kingdom's territory. The Interior Ministers of France and Spain are coordinating their actions to prevent a recurrence of such migration surges.

According to the French leader, the policy of strict control is yielding results: last year, the volume of illegal migration into the European Union decreased by 25%. A decline in flows is observed both on the Atlantic route and on the route through the western part of the Mediterranean Sea.
