On November 5, divergent price dynamics were recorded at Ukrainian gas stations: while the state-owned network Ukrnafta became the only operator to lower the cost of gasoline, the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) segment, conversely, showed the sharpest increase, with autogas adding up to 1.60 UAH/L at individual filling stations. Diesel fuel remained stable across all surveyed networks. Such a price reversal within a single day emphasizes that the fuel market remains heterogeneous, with different segments and networks responding to wholesale quotes at varying speeds and in different directions.

Ukrnafta cuts gasoline by 1 UAH/L across all grades

The state-owned Ukrnafta network became the only major operator to revise its price tags downward on this day, reducing the cost by 1.00 UAH/L for all grades of gasoline. Following the adjustment, standard A-95 at the network costs 87.90 UAH/L, the branded A-95 Energy is 90.90 UAH/L, and A-92 stands at 85.90 UAH/L. Thus, Ukrnafta maintains its position as the most affordable offer among major networks, which is important for consumers focused on the economy segment.

Autogas: the most dynamic segment with a jump of up to +1.60 UAH/L

Liquefied petroleum gas remains the most volatile position on the market. The largest increase was recorded at the SOCAR network — immediately by +1.60 UAH/L to 61.50 UAH/L, making it the highest autogas price among the surveyed operators. At OKKO, gas went up by 1.00 UAH/L to 60.90 UAH/L. Collectively, this means that at a number of stations, the psychological threshold of 60 UAH per liter of gas has already been crossed, which corresponds to the growing trend of rising LPG prices observed throughout the autumn.

Diesel fuel maintains stability

Unlike gasoline and gas, diesel fuel prices did not change in any of the surveyed networks on November 5. Euro-Diesel is cheapest at UPG, priced at 102.90 UAH/L. At the opposite end is SOCAR, where its NANO brand costs 108.00 UAH/L and NANO Extro costs 111.00 UAH/L. This means that even in the stable diesel segment, the spread between the cheapest and most expensive offer exceeds 8 UAH/L, reflecting differences in network positioning.

Gap between segments and the autumn context

The key indicator of the day is the price gap for a liter of A-95 gasoline between the premium and economy segments: at SOCAR it is 95.90 UAH/L, at Ukrnafta it is 87.90 UAH/L, with the difference reaching 8.00 UAH/L. This gap fits into a broader autumn context: back in late August, the average market price for A-95 was about 79.91 UAH/L, and in mid-September it was around 88.32 UAH/L, while the Cabinet of Ministers had previously urged gas station networks not to raise retail prices above the psychological mark of 100 UAH/L. In fact, the market demonstrates a steady upward trend in fuel prices throughout the autumn, and November 5 became the day when, within this trend, gasoline and gas went in opposite directions for the first time in a single snapshot.
