The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has reminded citizens about an important rule of the national "Health Screening 40+" program active in 2026. The 2000 hryvnias received on a special card must be used strictly within two months from the date of crediting. Otherwise, unused funds will automatically be returned to the state budget.

Conditions and Deadlines for Fund Utilization

After successfully applying for government support, the funds are credited to the citizen's card. Starting from this day, the patient has exactly two months to choose a medical institution from the list of program participants and book an examination. The Ministry of Health strongly advises Ukrainians to check the crediting date to prevent funds from expiring and to undergo preventive check-ups on time.

What is Included in the Medical Screening

The "Health Screening 40+" program is available to all Ukrainian citizens aged 40 and older, regardless of their place of registration or actual residence. All necessary examinations are carried out in a single visit to a medical facility. The procedure package includes measuring blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, waist circumference, lifestyle surveys, risk factor assessment, and basic laboratory tests to evaluate heart, blood vessel, and kidney function.

Program Scale and Public Coverage

As of autumn 2026, the program shows massive indicators: more than 751 thousand Ukrainians have already undergone the national screening since the beginning of the year. In total, over 1.9 million applications have been submitted, and the total amount of state financial support has exceeded 2.1 billion hryvnias. The screening is available across 2,757 service delivery points nationwide.
