Ukrainian artist GROSU (Alina Grosu) has presented her new summer track 'Durna Lyubov' along with the music video of the same name, which was shot in the US in essentially one week. The artist revealed this in an interview published on the WAVE (RBC-Ukraine) portal. According to her, a trip to America that was originally planned for just seven days to handle personal matters turned into an intense work marathon, during which the team managed to assemble a film crew, find dancers, and shoot the video by the ocean.
What the new track is about
The new song is dedicated to a relationship that, once again, failed to live up to expectations. In the storyline of the song, the hero once again chooses not the heroine, the promises remain mere words, and the story ends as abruptly as it began. At the same time, the artist urges the listener not to dwell on a failed love, but to let it go and move on. 'And again I'm not with you, oh-oh… And it passed by without saying goodbye, that foolish love,' the performer sings. The release follows the track 'Moy Ray' ('My Paradise'), which, according to the publication, continues to hold its place in Ukrainian radio charts.
Seven days in the US: from personal errands to a work marathon
GROSU filmed the video in America, where she had originally headed for just seven days. The main purpose of the trip was personal business: according to the singer, she had left her son for an extended period for the first time in order to pick up her dog and the last few things that were still left in the US. However, as the artist notes, the trip quickly turned into a work marathon, and within the allotted time she managed to combine her personal tasks with the preparation of a new release.
How they assembled a team and shot a video in a week
'I don't even know how we managed to do it in a week. In fact, the whole crew was very small — literally a few people plus a choreographer. We gathered the girls very quickly, found the outfits, held rehearsals and started shooting. I came up with a lot of it myself — certain tricks, moves, moments I wanted to see on camera. We were already refining everything on location, and as a result we got exactly what I wanted,' the celebrity told the interview. She added that she still doesn't understand how they managed to assemble a team, find the girls and the outfits, organize everything and shoot the video in that amount of time, but perhaps when you really want something — anything is possible.
A dolphin off the shore and extreme thrills on the rocks
The shooting by the ocean brought both unexpected and dangerous moments. 'I had never in my life seen a dolphin so close to the shore. It was very beautiful and completely unexpected. And we nearly crashed into the rocks while dancing and sitting on the stones. The tide came in, the waves grew stronger and literally started hurling us against the rocks. So the video contains not only beautiful shots, but also a bit of real extreme action,' the artist recalled.
The visual code of the video
In the video, GROSU appears on the shore together with dancers in light-colored outfits. The main visual elements of the video are sand, the ocean, the sunset and fire — a combination that underscores the summer mood of the track and the contrast between the fragility of the looks and the severity of the elements. Thus, in just seven days by the ocean, the artist managed not only to take care of her personal matters, but also to release a full-fledged musical project with a self-made video.
