Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR of the Ministry of Defence) has publicly warned about the rollout of an information campaign within the country, the main goal of which, according to intelligence's own assessment, is the discreditation of military intelligence and its combat units. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an official GUR post. Intelligence stated that the organizers of the campaign intend to involve a wide circle of individuals in spreading fake messages, and plan to pay financial rewards for publishing disinformation about Ukrainian intelligence officers. Against this backdrop, GUR called on citizens to trust only verified official sources of information.
The Mechanism of the Alleged Campaign

GUR publicly addressed journalists and bloggers with a direct appeal: if they are contacted with an offer to publish and disseminate unverified or dubious data, they must immediately contact law enforcement agencies. At the same time, GUR reminded that Ukrainian military intelligence and its combat units continue to carry out combat and special missions, defending the country and countering Russian aggression.
