Experts warn: abnormally high temperatures can not only slow down the smartphone's performance but also significantly shorten the lifespan of its battery. Understanding how the device operates under extreme conditions will help keep the gadget in working order.
Thermal throttling and battery degradation
Constant overheating triggers a process in the smartphone known as thermal throttling. This is a protective mechanism that forcibly reduces the processor frequency to prevent critical damage to components. As a result, the user notices that the device has become slower, the interface "lags," and the screen may dim. Furthermore, high temperatures accelerate the chemical degradation of the battery, reducing its capacity and ability to hold a charge.
The main mistake: "shock" cooling
In an attempt to save an overheated gadget, many users make a fatal mistake—placing the device in a refrigerator, freezer, or bags of ice. Specialists categorically forbid such actions.
