Emergency security and life support measures have been introduced in the capital of Ukraine following massive missile strikes. Hot water supply will be temporarily shut off in the CHP-4 service area in Kyiv, as officially warned by local authorities. The reason for this decision is critical damage to infrastructure as a result of recent enemy shelling and the overall tense situation in the city.
Consequences of Massive Missile Strikes on the Capital
According to Oleksandr Kovtunov, head of the Darnytsia District State Administration in Kyiv, specialized services received preliminary information about the need to temporarily shut off hot water supply to residential buildings served by Euroreconstruction LLC. City authorities urge local residents to treat these forced and technically necessary measures with understanding, as they are aimed at preserving the integrity of surviving heating networks.
Operational Work of Services and Elimination of Destruction
Recall that on the evening of October 13, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles, targeting critical urban infrastructure objects directly. The main blow fell precisely on CHP-4, and serious damage was recorded at the energy facility. In addition, as a result of falling debris and direct hits, residential neighborhoods in several districts of the capital were damaged, including a nine-story building in the Desnianskyi district, where a large-scale fire broke out.
Contradictory Data
While official municipal services note large-scale destruction of the heat and power complex and are carrying out restoration work in an enhanced mode, representatives of the district administration also disseminated information about the use of cluster munitions with shrapnel by Russian troops during the night attack. Some independent experts point to the need for additional technical examination of the wreckage to finally confirm the type of weapons used, but the scale of destruction of civil and energy infrastructure remains an undisputed fact.
Prospects for Restoration and Stabilization
Currently, specialized experts are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences of the night strikes and stabilize Kyiv's energy system. The leadership of the Darnytsia District State Administration expresses hope that the situation will be brought under control in the near future, after which the phased resumption of hot water and stable electricity supply will begin. Residents have been promised additional updates on any further schedule changes and utility reconnections through official communication channels.
