A new approach to the work of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has been formed in Ukraine. The main goal of the body is now declared to be a single result: ensuring the country's security and protecting citizens. This was stated by the Secretary of the NSDC, Ihor Klymenko, in his address.
Control instead of paperwork
Klymenko thanked everyone for their trust during this defining period for the state and outlined the key priorities of his work. The central element of the new strategy will be strict control over the implementation of adopted decisions. According to the Secretary of the NSDC, documents must not remain on paper — they must be fully executed within the established deadlines.
This approach is designed to eliminate bureaucratic inertia and ensure real action by the agencies. Klymenko emphasized that the resilience of the state is built on the daily coordinated work of every specialist and every ministry.
New parameters for the NSDC's work
The appointment of Ihor Klymenko as Secretary of the NSDC became part of a large-scale reform of the national security system. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 694, granting the former Minister of Internal Affairs a new status.
On July 24, new parameters for the NSDC's work and principles for its update were determined. As reported earlier, Rustem Umerov and Ihor Klymenko will receive new areas of responsibility, which will allow for the optimization of decision-making processes in the face of current challenges.
Thus, the new stage of the NSDC's work focuses on practical effectiveness, discipline, and the personal responsibility of each employee for the result. This should become the foundation for strengthening Ukraine's defense capability and stability.
