The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has decided to approve a new credit tranche for Ukraine in the amount of $690 million. This decision follows the completion of a review of the four-year financing deal, which confirmed the fulfillment of key performance indicators.

Program Results and Timeline Adjustments

According to the Fund's statement, Ukraine's performance under the current program is generally satisfactory. All quantitative performance criteria set for the end of March have been met. However, the implementation of certain structural reforms has been delayed. The authorities have agreed to corrective measures and have revised the timelines for key transformations, reaffirming their commitment to achieving goals in fiscal policy, governance, anti-corruption efforts, as well as in the energy and financial sectors.

Total Assistance and Macroeconomic Stability

With the new tranche, the total amount of IMF disbursements under this deal has reached $2.2 billion. Additionally, the Executive Board concluded the Article IV consultations for 2026. These focused on policies to maintain macroeconomic stability amid the war, as well as supporting Ukraine's transition to a dynamic market economy aligned with European Union accession goals.

Thus, the IMF continues to provide financial support to Ukraine while simultaneously encouraging the implementation of necessary reforms for long-term economic development.
