The largest Russian marketplace, Wildberries, has faced a severe economic blow as a result of the military campaign. According to data obtained from the internal seller system, between early May and early August 2026, goods of a military nature worth 1.646 billion rubles were sold through the platform. However, the sales dynamics changed sharply following a series of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the company's logistics infrastructure.

Scale of trade and product categories

An analysis of data for three months showed that in categories related to military themes, at least 31,500 product cards were available on the platform. Researchers paid particular attention to the "Body Armor" category, which featured more than 2,800 items. Popular items included the "Archistratig BR2 Body Armor" and the "RODNY 2.0 Tactical Military Body Armor." The average check in this category for the reporting period was 16,800 rubles, indicating high demand for equipment.

Sharp drop in demand after attacks

Starting from mid-July, when strikes on the marketplace's warehouses intensified, a consistent decline in sales volumes was observed. In the "Body Armor" category, the number of orders over two weeks (from July 18 to 31) fell by 24%, while the number of actual purchases decreased by 40%. Over the last three months, goods worth 472 million rubles were sold in this category. A similar trend is observed in other segments: sales of military goods in general fell by 20–40%.

Impact on the drones and accessories category

The "Quadcopter Accessories" segment proved to be the most sensitive to the strikes. Over the two weeks from July 18 to 31, sales in this category demonstrated the sharpest decline. Over the last three months, goods worth 118 million rubles were sold in this segment. The drop in demand correlates directly with the physical destruction of warehouses where the corresponding products were stored, which is confirmed by data on the withdrawal of goods from circulation following the attacks.

Financial consequences for banks and borrowers

The economic crisis caused by attacks on logistics also has financial consequences. Russia's largest state banks — Sberbank and VTB — are recording a deterioration in the quality of loan portfolios. More and more borrowers associated with marketplaces, particularly Wildberries, are turning to debt restructuring. This points to systemic problems in the supply chain and the financial well-being of sellers dependent on the company's warehouse operations.

Contradictory data

There are discrepancies in the interpretation of the reasons for the drop in sales. On the one hand, the publication "Verstka" and RBK-Ukraine directly link the decline in volumes to physical attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on warehouses, including the strike on the logistics complex in Yekaterinburg on August 7. On the other hand, representatives of the marketplace may point to seasonal fluctuations or technical failures; however, the lack of official comments and the presence of data regarding the withdrawal of goods from sale after attacks confirm the version of the direct influence of military actions.
