On October 14, at a meeting featuring Visionox and Tsinghua University, iQOO Product Vice President Luo Feng revealed new details about the upcoming Neo12 smartphone. According to him, the device will go on sale at the end of this month. The presentation took place amid growing interest in mid-to-high-end "gaming" smartphones, where iQOO traditionally focuses on high screen refresh rates and specialized graphics acceleration chips.

Display and Touch Controls

The display characteristics became a key focus: the Neo12 will feature a 2K resolution screen with a 185Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness across the entire panel is claimed at 2200 nits, with XDR dynamic range enhancement support and a 1-nit minimum brightness mode for comfortable use in the dark. The manufacturer specifically highlighted the touch controls: the smartphone will be equipped with the same ultra-sensitive touch chip as the flagship iQOO 16. The claimed maximum instantaneous touch sampling rate reaches 5000Hz, and 500Hz for multi-touch. The specifications also include a metal frame, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and Q-flex control technology.

Performance and Cooling

According to the published specifications, processing power will be handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, while mobile gaming graphics will be powered by the proprietary Q3 chip. The manufacturer claims support for over 50 games at 185 frames per second, as well as ray tracing and gaming graphics enhancement tools. To dissipate heat, an Ice Dome cooling system with a built-in fan is provided, which should maintain performance under prolonged loads.

Battery Life

Special attention during the presentation was given to the battery: the Neo12 will receive a 9000mAh Blue Ocean battery featuring a fifth-generation silicon anode and an energy density of 916 Wh/L. This approach allows a large energy reserve to fit within the smartphone body and reduces reliance on frequent recharges during active usage scenarios, including gaming.

Release Timeline

Luo Feng confirmed that the iQOO Neo12 will go on sale in late October. Thus, just days remain before the sales launch, and judging by the scale of the revealed features, the company intends to position the model as one of the most feature-packed offerings in the Neo lineup this year.
