Global Launch of the Gaming Flagship

RedMagic has announced the start of global sales for the RedMagic 12 Pro gaming smartphone. The model was introduced in mid-October in the Chinese market under the name RedMagic 12 Pro+, and is now reaching the international audience. Just like the Chinese version, the global novelty features a liquid cooling system with RGB lighting and an 8400 mAh battery, making it one of the most endurance-packed devices in the gaming smartphone segment.

Differences Between the Global and Chinese Versions

The main divergence between the two versions concerns wired charging power: the global model offers 80W compared to 120W in the Chinese variant. Meanwhile, the smartphone retains support for wireless charging and bypass charging, which is crucial for long gaming sessions. Notably, despite a 12% increase in battery capacity compared to its predecessor, the body has become thinner — 8.5 mm instead of 8.9 mm.

185 Hz Display and Under-Display Camera

The RedMagic 12 Pro is equipped with a 6.85-inch X11 OLED display manufactured by BOE with 1.5K resolution (2688 × 1216 pixels). According to the company, this is the industry's first "full-screen" display with a 185 Hz refresh rate and an under-display front camera. Peak brightness reaches 1,900 nits for the entire screen and up to 5,000 nits in local areas, the touch sampling rate is 5,000 Hz, and the bezel thickness is just 0.96 mm. Housed beneath the display are a ninth-generation 16-megapixel selfie camera developed jointly with BOE and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Hardware and AquaCore 3.0 Cooling System

Computing performance is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor paired with the proprietary RedCore R5 coprocessor and G1 image processing chip. RAM capacity reaches up to 16 GB, with internal storage up to 1 TB. The AquaCore Cooling System 3.0 combines dual-loop liquid cooling with RGB lighting, a 25,500 RPM fan, a vapor chamber with a 15% larger effective area, Liquid Metal 4.0 thermal interface, and a new micro-pump generating up to 130 kPa of pressure — 85% higher than the previous version while consuming only 20 mW of power.

Cameras, Triggers, and Pricing

The rear panel features a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide module. For gamers, lateral touch-sensitive trigger buttons with a 700 Hz sampling rate are provided. Starting November 18, the smartphone will be available in two color options — Nightfreeze (transparent black) and Subzero (transparent silver). Pricing is set at $949 for the 12/256 GB version, $1049 for the 16/512 GB model, and $1199 for the 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage variant.
