In Kyiv, law enforcement officers have detained two minors from the Podilskyi district, suspected of a series of brutal attacks on civilians. The incident, which took place in the center of the capital, caused a wide resonance and attracted the attention of the Juvenile Police. According to the investigation, the teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were under the influence of alcohol and committed the attacks using weapons.

Details of the brutal attacks at Post Office Square

According to a statement by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, the events unfolded in the evening at Post Office Square. The young men provoked a conflict with a 48-year-old local resident. The 17-year-old suspect struck the woman in the face with a brass knuckle, while his 16-year-old accomplice stabbed her twice in the abdomen. The victim was urgently hospitalized in critical condition. Later, on Mezhyhirskaya Street, the suspects committed a second attack on a 43-year-old Kyiv resident, striking her in the face with brass knuckles. The woman suffered a brain concussion and other injuries.

Operational work and arrest

Investigators, in close cooperation with criminal analysis specialists, quickly located the attackers. The arrest was carried out in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. In the photos from the scene, Juvenile Police officers can be seen escorting the detainees. The investigators are charging the minors with hooliganism using an item prepared in advance to inflict bodily harm.

Criminal liability and preventive measures

The Podilskyi District Court has already selected preventive measures for the suspects. The 16-year-old suspect, who inflicted stab wounds, is additionally charged with intentional grievous bodily harm. For the crimes committed, they face up to eight and seven years of imprisonment, respectively.
