The team behind the revamped show “Karaoke on the Square” has changed its plans for upcoming filming due to the security situation. The recording that was scheduled for September 5 on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv has been canceled. The project’s team explained that the decision to change the date and city was made for safety reasons amid Russian attacks. At the same time, the show itself is not being shut down: on September 12, “Karaoke on the Square” will be filmed in Zhytomyr.

Cancellation of filming in Kyiv

The shoot on Kontraktova Square, planned for September 5, will not take place. Creative producer of the TET channel Roman Lukin explained: “People’s safety comes first, so we are changing our plans and canceling the filming in Kyiv on September 5. But we are not stopping.” According to him, it is important for the team to keep creating Ukrainian content and to meet with viewers, which is exactly why Zhytomyr was chosen as the next location.

New location — Zhytomyr

The updated recording is scheduled for September 12 in Zhytomyr. The organizers promise to announce the exact time and venue later on the TET channel’s and the show’s host HAS’s social media pages. Thus, the team is keeping the project’s schedule, merely shifting it geographically and on the calendar to minimize risks for participants and viewers.

The return of the legendary show and a change of host

The legendary show resumed in 2026 after a break of more than six years. The first recordings of the updated project took place in the spring on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv. Along with its return, the host changed as well: instead of Igor Kondratyuk, the show is now hosted by Ukrainian performer HAS (Nazar Hassan). Kondratyuk, in turn, continues to work on the project as creative producer.

The project’s charitable mission

The new version of “Karaoke on the Square” also has a charitable goal: the project supports the “Titaniivyi” rehabilitation center, where Ukrainian military personnel recover from serious injuries. It is precisely this mission that the team plans to continue during the September 12 filming in Zhytomyr, preserving the socially significant nature of the updated format.
