The Ukrainian dub of Warner Bros.' animated film 'Cat in the Hat' has added two prominent names: singer Kazhanna and TV presenter Lyudmila Barbir have joined the voice cast. Audiences will hear the artists' voices in theaters as early as the beginning of November 2026 — preview screenings start on October 31, and the wide release opens on November 5. The new project is based on one of Dr. Seuss's most famous characters and continues the tradition of adapting classic American children's literature for the big screen.

Who Will Give Voices to the Characters

Kazhanna voiced one of the female characters in the cartoon, but the creators are keeping the character's name secret for now, inviting viewers to find it out during the screening. The singer herself described the film as 'a story about imagination, mischief, adventures, and the chaos that sometimes adults need too.' Lyudmila Barbir, known to audiences as a host on the '1+1 Ukraine' TV channel, has also joined the dubbing team. Working with animated characters is not new to her: she previously voiced Dynamite in the animated film 'Planes: Fire & Rescue'.

Plot: A Mission Worth a Hat

In the new story, the Cat in the Hat receives an important assignment from the Institute of Incredible Imagination and Inspiration Development — to help brother and sister Gabby and Sebastian, who are struggling with moving to another city. However, the hero, capable of turning any task into chaos, risks overdoing it once again: if the mission fails, he might lose his magic hat. The conflict is built around the balance between saving other people's emotions and the character's habitual tendency toward uncontrolled mischief.

Production and Original Voice Cast

The animated film is directed by Alessandro Carloni, who worked on 'Kung Fu Panda 3', and Erica Rivinoja. In the original version, Bill Hader provided the voice for the main character, while in the Ukrainian dub, the Cat in the Hat is voiced by Pavlo Skorokhodko. Thus, the local version retains the recognizable timbre of the original while adding new names in supporting roles.

Release Dates

The Ukrainian release of 'Cat in the Hat' opens on November 5, 2026, with preview screenings running earlier, starting October 31. For animation fans and Dr. Seuss enthusiasts, this means the film can be seen in theaters during the last week of October. Kazhanna's character name, as well as details of her role, remain a mystery until the screening.
