In November, TLC will premiere the third season of the culinary competition show «Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking». The premiere will take place on Sunday, November 8, at 11:40 PM, with subsequent episodes airing on Sundays at the same time. The third season marks the 25th anniversary of the franchise's first film, «Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone», released in 2001, giving these episodes a special festive atmosphere. The premiere episode will run for two hours, making it the longest in the show's history.
Tournament Format: Four Houses, Twelve Pastry Chefs
In the new season, four teams representing each of the Hogwarts houses—Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin—will compete for the Hogwarts Cup. The teams consist of 12 pastry chefs, cake artists, and bakers, many of whom have previously showcased their skills in past seasons of the show. Notably, none of the contestants from previous seasons have yet won the Cup, giving the teams a fresh opportunity to enter the project's history.
Hosts and Judging Panel
The hosts for the third season return as brothers James and Oliver Phelps, widely known to audiences for playing Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter films. Judging the participants' work are pastry chef Duff Goldman and executive pastry chef Sarah Mountain. In one of the episodes, guest judge and renowned Japanese chef Masaharu Morimoto, widely known from the culinary show «Iron Chef», will join the panel to evaluate participants during a challenge dedicated to the Dark Arts.
Episode Themes and Familiar Locations
Across seven episodes, teams will complete challenges inspired by the Harry Potter books and films. Themes include «The Chamber of Secrets», the Dark Arts, the Weasley family, and the battle between good and evil. In the premiere episode, participants will first create desserts inspired by memorable moments from the first film, followed by confectionary displays inspired by beloved spells. Fans will see familiar locations on screen: the Weasley family home, Ollivanders wand shop, Hagrid's hut, the Chamber of Secrets, the Hogwarts courtyard, and the Ministry of Magic.
Prize and Where to Watch
The winners of the third season will receive the Wizards of Baking Cup and a VIP trip to Tokyo with a tour of the Warner Bros. studio where the Harry Potter films were made. «We are incredibly excited for Harry Potter and baking fans around the world to see the amazing creations of this season», Oliver Phelps noted. New episodes will air Sundays at 11:40 PM on TLC; missed episodes will be available on the streaming platform HBO Max.
