The authorities of the Kharkiv region have made a tough decision regarding the mandatory evacuation of the civilian population. On July 30, the Regional Defense Council ordered the forced evacuation of families with children from the Staryi Saltiv territorial hromada. This was officially announced by Oleksandr Synegubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, in his Telegram channel.
Expansion of the risk zone
According to the official's statement, the zone where the mandatory relocation regime is now in effect has been expanded in the Chuhuiv district. The decision was made against the backdrop of a sharp increase in the intensity of enemy shelling of settlements in the Staryi Saltiv hromada. The authorities did not delay safety measures as the threat to citizens' lives has become critical.
"At the meeting of the Regional Defense Council, a decision was made to conduct an evacuation, specifically by force, of families with children from 9 villages of the Staryi Saltiv hromada," Synegubov emphasized.
Who must leave their homes
According to the latest data, 865 people currently live in the settlements covered by this decision. Among them are the most vulnerable categories of citizens: 58 children and 64 people with limited mobility. It is these groups of the population that have become the priority for immediate evacuation to safe areas.
Organization of the process
To implement the evacuation plan, specific routes have already been determined and temporary accommodation places have been prepared for displaced persons. The regional administration emphasizes that the process is taking place in close coordination with local hromadas, law enforcement agencies, rescuers, and volunteers. The main task is declared to be the protection of every family.
"We continue to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the protection of every family," the head of the RMA assured.
Overall picture of the region
The situation with the forced evacuation of citizens is not limited to the Kharkiv region. In the neighboring Dnipro region, the zone of mandatory relocation of families with children has also been expanded. Due to the constant threat of shelling, hundreds of residents, including more than three hundred children, are forced to leave their homes. Similar measures were also taken in the Kherson region: on July 17, against the backdrop of a deteriorating situation and an expansion of the strike zone, the authorities increased the territory of mandatory population evacuation.
