The Active Operations Special Unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, "Artan," has summarized the official results of the combat deployment of ground robotic systems during the active summer campaign of 2026. Innovative technologies are increasingly integrating into daily combat operations on the frontline, fundamentally changing the approach to logistics and the rescue of wounded personnel under severe opposition from Russian occupiers.
Results of Robot Deployment on the Frontline
According to the command, during the summer months, the robotic platform crews covered about 4,258 kilometers of rough terrain. The use of such equipment minimizes risks to personnel when executing critically important logistical tasks under constant enemy artillery and drone sights. Thanks to unmanned systems, 45 Ukrainian servicemen were successfully evacuated and saved, while over 41 tons of essential supplies—including ammunition, food, and medicine—were delivered to frontline positions.
Command Assessments and Operation Geography
Commander of the "Artan" special unit, Colonel Viktor Torkotiuk, emphasized that modern technologies are radically transforming the combat capabilities of frontline units. According to him, the introduction of innovative logistics frees up human resources and forces for active operations and offensives. The Zaporizhzhia sector remains the primary focus of the special unit's work, but throughout the spring and summer of 2026, "Artan" special forces were also involved in missions as part of the large-scale "Vivaldi" operation in the Lyman direction.
