The new leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to cancel plans to establish a Coordination Center for organizing reserves for military personnel. The resolution providing for the formation of this body was annulled by the government of Serhiy Koretsky.
This was reported by Alexander Fedyenko, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense, and intelligence, on his Facebook page. According to him, the document, signed back on July 8, was never made public, but its existence and content sparked a wide public resonance.
Why the creation of the center was cancelled
Originally, the idea of creating a Coordination Center belonged to the government of Yuliya Sviridenko. According to the draft resolution, this body was to function as a temporary advisory and consultative body under the Cabinet of Ministers. Its main task would have been to provide recommendations to state bodies when making decisions regarding enterprises of critical importance and, consequently, regarding the reservation of employees.
However, as revealed during the review, significant comments were ignored by the main developer during the refinement of the document. This became one of the reasons why the new government decided not to continue working on the initiative.
Reaction and context
The idea of creating a separate advisory body for reserves immediately became the center of public attention. Active discussions arose in society regarding the expediency of creating yet another structure that could influence mobilization processes.
Previously, RBK-Ukraine reported that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to cancel a number of decisions by the previous government concerning reservation issues. Serhiy Koretsky also announced the conduct of an audit of the government's activities, within which a review and cancellation of a number of ineffective or controversial decisions are planned.
