The process of registering for exemption from mobilization through the Ukrainian state application "Diia" continues. The new government has decided not to suspend this function, despite previously circulating rumors of a possible pause.
Reasons for postponing the decision
As a source told RBC-Ukraine, the team of the new Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to postpone making a final decision on this issue. Experts point to several key reasons for this position.
First, when discussing previous initiatives, not all possible risks and nuances were taken into account. The new composition of the government requires time to work out the issue in detail to avoid mistakes made earlier.
Second, there is a political aspect. The decision to stop reserve registration was made by the previous Cabinet of Ministers. The Ministry of Economy, which is supposed to initiate such changes in the current structure, does not plan to face negative public reaction in the first days of its work.
Cancellation of old plans
The publication's interlocutor emphasized that all previously announced changes in the media are currently irrelevant. Last week, information appeared that at the Headquarters (a meeting on defense issues), the option of putting reserve registration on pause was being considered, tentatively until September 1. However, specific details of the restrictions were not known at that time.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the new government has reviewed the decisions of its predecessor. Earlier, the initiative to create a Coordination Center for issues of reserve registration of military personnel was canceled. This body was supposed to determine the criticality of certain positions, but the project was not implemented.
Current status
At the moment, the reserve registration functionality in the "Diia" application is working in normal mode. Users can submit applications to obtain a reserve certificate by authorizing in the system and filling in the necessary data. There have been no official statements about the introduction of a moratorium or restrictions on submitting applications yet.
