Opened the scoring on a power play and maintained the lead

The first period was tightly contested, with the deadlock broken only in the 16th minute when Pauls Svars capitalized on a power play to put "Kyiv Capitals" ahead. Less than two minutes later, Kevins Stradnieks doubled the Ukrainian club's lead, giving the visitors a 2:0 advantage by the break. This early cushion set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Latvians were never able to turn the tide.

Second period: five goals and a shorthanded brace

The start of the second period belonged entirely to Kyiv: Rustams Begovs also utilized a power play to score the third goal, followed by Lukas Žukauskas making it 4:0. In the 29th minute, Armands Apsītis pulled one goal back for the Latvians, but the visitors failed to build on that success. Before the second intermission, "Kyiv Capitals" struck three more times: Svars completed a brace by scoring while shorthanded, and both Stradnieks and Begovs netted their second goals of the match. By the end of the second period, the score was 7:1.

Grand finale and three braces

In the final period, any lingering suspense was completely erased: in the 49th minute, Renārs Cipruss assisted Harijs Brants, who set the final score at 8:1. As a result of the meeting, three Kyiv club players—Svars, Stradnieks, and Begovs—finished the match with braces, marking the main individual storyline of the blowout. The team won all three periods, highlighting their consistency throughout the entire game.
