Kyiv Dynamo has learned its potential opponents in the UEFA Conference League qualification playoff round. The European football organization has already formed the subgroups ahead of the official draw, which will take place today, August 3, in Nyon, Switzerland.
The path through the Conference League
After being eliminated from the Europa League by Greek PAOK, Dynamo is forced to continue their European season in a lower-tier tournament — the Conference League. In the third qualifying round, the team under the guidance of Igor Kostyuk will face Azerbaijani Karabakh. The matches are scheduled for August 6 and 13.
In the event of a victory over the opponents from Baku, the "white-and-blues" will advance to the playoff round, where they will fight for a spot in the main group stage of the CL.
Seeded team status
Interestingly, the "Dynamo" — "Karabakh" pair in the playoff draw will have seeded status. This became possible thanks to the high club coefficient of the Azerbaijani team — 42.750 versus 17.500 for the Kyiv team.
Possible opponents
UEFA has published a shortened list of potential opponents for the Kyiv team. Although the full list of opponents will only be known after the draw, it is already possible to say that the fight will be intense and require maximum concentration from the players.
Draw and broadcast
The official draw procedure for the final stage of qualification will take place on Monday, August 3, in Nyon. Start time — 15:00 Kyiv time. A live broadcast will be available on the official UEFA website.
Earlier, it was reported that Greek Olympiacos excluded Roman Yaremchuk from their Champions League plans, which could also affect the balance of power in European football.
