Traffic restrictions in central Kyiv: what drivers need to know
On Wednesday, July 23, temporary traffic restrictions will be in effect in the center of the Ukrainian capital. Changes to traffic organization are related to events involving foreign delegations. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an official publication by the State Guard Service of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officials have warned residents and guests of the city that vehicle traffic will be partially restricted in the central part of Kyiv on this day. The specific list of streets where bans will be introduced has not yet been provided, however, it is known that temporary measures will affect central districts.
Specialists recommend taking this information into account when planning routes in advance. To avoid delays, drivers are advised to choose alternative detour routes where possible.
5G testing and a shooting incident
In addition to changes in the transport scheme, technological projects are actively developing in the capital. Testing of fifth-generation mobile communications has begun in Kyiv. The pilot project covers all districts of the city and is being implemented with the participation of the largest operators: Kyivstar, lifecell, and Vodafone Ukraine. Companies are checking the operation of the 5G network at specific locations.
At the same time, an incident occurred in the city resulting in the detention of a suspect. A shooting took place in one of the supermarkets on Severna Street. According to police, an intoxicated 35-year-old local resident opened fire in the direction of a security guard. Law enforcement officials quickly identified the identity of the offender and detained him.
