On Thursday evening, September 10, 2026, Kyiv Oblast came under attack again from Russian strike drones. According to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the region spent nearly the entire day under air raid alerts. The aftermath of the strike was tragic: one person was killed and two others were injured. Damage was recorded in the Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv districts — 17 facilities in total, including private homes, vehicles, warehouse and production premises, a hangar, and a veterinary clinic.

Given the scale of the flames and the thick smoke, a version quickly spread online that a military railway train had been hit. However, Timur Tkachenko publicly refuted this information, clarifying that what caught fire was a civilian-purpose train — warehouse facilities in the Bucha district. "To avoid unnecessary speculation and panic: as a result of the enemy attack, a civilian-purpose train caught fire. Rescue workers and all necessary services are working on site. The situation is under control," the head of the Regional Military Administration stated. As of the evening of September 10, the fire was still being brought under control by personnel of the State Emergency Service (SES).

Chronicle of the Strikes: Three Days in a Row Under Fire

The September 10 attack was the third in the past three days. During the night and morning of September 9, Russian drones struck six districts of Kyiv Oblast at once; in particular, a fire broke out at a food industry enterprise in Bila Tserkva due to the shelling. On the night of September 8, the strikes hit two districts of the region — trucks were destroyed, fires broke out at industrial enterprises, and the building of one of the logistics complexes was attacked twice. Thus, from September 8 to 10, Kyiv Oblast effectively knew no peaceful day: each day saw new damage to infrastructure and threats to civilians.

Conflicting Data

The only discrepancy in the information that arrived in the first hours after the impact concerns the nature of the burning object. Viral videos on Telegram and other messengers were accompanied by captions about the possible hit on a military train, which could have indicated a strike on military logistics. The official position of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, voiced by Tkachenko, is that this concerns exclusively a civilian warehouse complex. The difference in interpretation is explained by the fact that the first frames did not allow for unambiguous identification of the type of cargo and the affiliation of the train. At the site of the fire near Hostomel and in other damaged districts, units of the State Emergency Service, the police, and emergency services are working. Tkachenko emphasized that the situation is under control.
