In the morning of July 20, a video appeared on social media showing the launch of a new missile of Ukrainian development. The footage, showing the launch of the munition and its trajectory in the sky, was published by the chief designer and co-owner of FirePoint, Denis Shtilerman.
"Beauty": a laconic comment from the creator
In his post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Shtilerman accompanied the video with just one word: "Beauty". The expert did not reveal technical details of the development, nor did he name the specific missile whose flight was captured on camera. The lack of details intentionally keeps the intrigue around the new Ukrainian development.
Context: massive attack on Moscow
The publication of the launch video coincided with reports of large-scale strikes on the Russian capital. On the night of July 20, a missile alert was declared in the Moscow region, which was subsequently cancelled. Preliminary data suggests that an oil depot in Podolsk was hit.
The situation in the region developed rapidly: several fires were recorded in the city. One of the likely targets of the attack was a Wildberries marketplace warehouse, where emergency evacuation of personnel began. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed on the morning of July 20 that more than 400 unmanned aerial vehicles had attempted to strike the capital and the region overnight.
Development of Ukraine's missile program
The demonstration of the new missile launch fits into the general picture of the development of Ukraine's ballistic program. Earlier, sources reported successful tests of their own ballistics. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already assessed these works, stating that "good results" have been achieved, although test launches continue. The head of state has also repeatedly touched on the topic of the capabilities of Russian ballistics, emphasizing the importance of developing their own defense technologies.
