Former three-division world boxing champion Vasiliy Lomachenko has announced his intention to resume his sports career and once again compete for the undisputed world championship title. The Ukrainian athlete plans to return to the ring in his natural super featherweight division, which he considers optimal for achieving his goals at the age of 38.

Motivation for Return and Age Limits

According to the Ukrainian boxer, the decision to resume his career came unexpectedly after reflecting on his age and career prospects. Lomachenko noted that at 38, he still has a two-year window, but he cannot delay his return any longer, as fighting for titles at 40 or 41 would be too late.

The athlete emphasized that one day he realized the necessity of making another attempt to win undisputed championship status. This inner impulse and desire to realize his ambitions prompted him to reconsider his plans for his athletic future.

Weight Class Change and Reasons for the Pause

The long break in the Ukrainian's appearances was caused by accumulated fatigue from professional boxing and discomfort in his previous division. Fighting in the lightweight class up to 61 kilograms, or 135 pounds, turned out to be uncomfortable for him, as this category is not his natural one.

Now Lomachenko intends to return to the super featherweight limit of up to 59 kilograms, or 130 pounds. In this natural division, he expects to feel confident and demonstrate his best conditioning after completing his break from competition.

Future Plans and Conditioning Check

The boxer has not yet named a specific date for his next official bout, but he plans to evaluate his physical form and functional state next year. This will allow him to fully adapt after returning to his preferred weight limit.

Lomachenko's return to the super featherweight division promises to add intrigue to the championship race. Experts and fans eagerly await the Ukrainian's first steps after resuming his career and his potential matchups against the division's strongest fighters.
