The Lukyanivska metro station in Kyiv has been temporarily suspended. The reason for the closure is damage to the surface vestibule caused by a blast wave. Currently, train traffic on the "green" line is operating without stopping at this station.
Cleanup and current situation
Kyiv Metro staff have already begun to address the aftermath of the incident. The main task at the moment is to restore the functionality of escalators and passenger automation necessary for safe passenger service. History of strikes on the district
The events of the night of July 19 continued a series of attacks on this area. Lukyanivka has been a target of strikes more than once. For instance, on the night of May 24, Kyiv suffered a massive strike, resulting in the Lukyanivka district suffering the most damage. At that time, the "Kvadrat" shopping center and the Lukyanivka market were completely burned down, while a residential building and the metro station vestibule were damaged.
Following the May events, Kyiv residents initiated a petition demanding the restoration of the market. However, the Kyiv City State Administration (KSGA) refused to participate in funding the restoration, explaining that the object is private property.
Impact on the real estate market
The consequences of frequent attacks have also affected the economic situation in the district. The real estate market in Lukyanivka has suffered significantly: over the last year, housing prices in this area have fallen by 22% in dollar terms compared to other parts of the Shevchenkivskyi district.
