Ukraine is facing an unprecedented level of aggression from the Russian armed forces. Over the past week, enemy troops have attacked 16 regions of the country, deploying a colossal amount of ammunition. According to data announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, approximately 1,900 unmanned aerial vehicles, nearly 1,600 guided aerial bombs, and 144 missiles of various types were used during these strikes.
Damage and infrastructure losses
The consequences of the massive strikes have been catastrophic. As a result of the attacks, more than 1,500 objects were damaged in just one week. Among the destruction are hundreds of residential buildings, which threatens the safety of the civilian population and exacerbates the humanitarian situation in frontline and remote regions.
Air defense issues and ballistic missiles
Particular concern is raised by the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense systems under conditions of a saturated attack. Zelenskyy recalled the events of the night of August 1, when the Ukrainian Air Force managed to shoot down only one of the 27 ballistic missiles launched by Russian troops. This figure demonstrates the growing difficulty of intercepting high-precision munitions.
Increased arms production in Russia
The head of state noted that Russia is redirecting significant resources to increase the production of ballistic missiles. At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized the critical vulnerability of the sanctions regime: a significant number of Russian enterprises engaged in the production of components for drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs are still not under international sanctions.
In this regard, the President called on Western partners to increase pressure on all links of the Russian military-industrial complex to deprive Moscow of the ability to maintain the current pace of escalation.
