Maudau, a marketplace within the Fozzy Group of companies, has announced a partial optimization of its staff. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the company's official statement on LinkedIn. Maudau emphasized that the reduction will affect only part of the workforce, and that the process will be carried out as carefully and respectfully toward each employee as possible. The company links the decision to the consequences of attacks on the holding's logistics facilities, which in early August damaged four distribution centers at once.
Reason for the optimization: strikes on logistics
The company directly tied the need for staff cuts to the consequences of Russian attacks on logistics infrastructure. According to Fozzy Group, in early August, as a result of the shelling, four of the holding's distribution centers were damaged. This complicated supply and logistics not only for the Maudau online platform, but also for the supermarket chains Silpo, Fara, and Thrash!. According to management, it is precisely these disruptions that make staff optimization a necessary measure to preserve the sustainability of the business under the new conditions.
The company's position: "honestly, properly, and with respect"
Maudau assured that the process would be handled as carefully as possible. "Behind every position is a person, their experience and contribution to the company. That is why it is important to us that this process be carried out as honestly, properly, and with respect to everyone it affects," the company noted. They added that such decisions are never simple, but today they are necessary to adapt to the new conditions, preserve the sustainability of the business, and continue operations. The marketplace, management assured, will continue to function and develop.
Financial context: losses and 622 employees
"Maudau" LLC is a Kyiv-based company in the e-commerce sector, founded at the end of 2020. According to Opendatabot, its director is Artem Dombrovskyi, the ultimate beneficial owner is Volodymyr Kostelman, and the sole founder with a 100% stake is PJSC "ZNKIF 'Holding Invest'" with a charter capital of 1.309 billion UAH. For the first two quarters of 2026, the company's revenue amounted to 1.564 billion UAH, net loss — 534.5 million UAH, assets — 1.333 billion UAH, liabilities — 2.086 billion UAH, and the number of employees — 622 people. The high ratio of liabilities to assets clearly shows how sensitive the business model is to disruptions in the supply chain.
Broader context: following Rozetka
The optimization at Maudau is not an isolated case. Rozetka had previously also announced a reduction of part of its staff, likewise explaining the decision with the consequences of attacks on logistics infrastructure. Thus, the partial staff reduction at Maudau becomes part of the overall adaptation of Fozzy Group to the consequences of large-scale strikes on the holding's facilities. For the market, this is a signal that the war in logistics continues to directly influence the HR and financial decisions of Ukraine's largest retailers and marketplaces.
