This was stated by the company's press service in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. McDonald's noted that "the current operating procedures of the restaurants remain unchanged," while the chain's team is carefully analyzing how the new alert level distribution system will work in practice and whether it will allow operations to be safely organized under a yellow alert level.
How McDonald's Operates During Alerts Today
To date, the procedure in place for McDonald's restaurants in Ukraine remains the same: during an air alert, the establishments temporarily suspend service so that staff and customers can move to the nearest shelter. Service resumes immediately after the alert is lifted. The company emphasizes that the safety of employees and customers is a priority and a key condition for the operation of every restaurant in the chain.
What Has Changed in the Alert System
Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by resolution, introduced a differentiated air alert system, dividing alerts into two levels of danger — yellow and red. Under a yellow alert, businesses are formally permitted to continue operating provided there is a temporary or permanent shelter for staff and customers. It is precisely this nuance that has become the subject of internal analysis at McDonald's: the company is assessing whether its infrastructure and operational processes meet the new requirements before changing the familiar operating scenario for customers.
Menu and Logistics Issues
Separately, McDonald's commented on the temporary unavailability of certain menu items, which social media users had noticed at restaurants in Hattine near Kyiv and in the capital itself. According to company representatives, the cause is supply delays caused by frequent and prolonged air alerts, not damage to specific warehouses or logistics centers. The chain clarified that the current menu of a specific restaurant can be checked in the McDonald's mobile app, at the self-service terminal, or in delivery partner apps.

Until McDonald's announces a transition to operating under a yellow alert, customers should follow the familiar scenario: when the alert is declared, the restaurant suspends service until it is lifted.
