"While diplomacy and peacekeeping play an important role in these efforts, they are secondary to our shared ability to put the interests of children above international disputes," the First Lady stated.

It was previously reported that a communication channel was opened between the First Lady and the Russian leadership. Melania Trump received a response from Vladimir Putin to her letter regarding the fate of Ukrainian children. Since then, the dialogue has continued.

On February 12, Melania Trump managed to bring a certain number of Ukrainian children home who had been taken to the Russian Federation after the start of the full-scale invasion.
