Mikhail Fedorov, recently relieved of his duties as Minister of Defense of Ukraine, will continue to work in the team of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was announced by the President's advisor, Dmytro Lytvyn, confirming the fact of negotiations between the country's leader and the former minister.

Fedorov in the Team, but the Position is Not Yet Defined

According to Lytvyn, Zelenskyy and Fedorov held several meetings in recent days. "The President spoke with Mikhail yesterday and the day before yesterday. They clearly stated that Mikhail remains in the team," the advisor declared. However, Fedorov's specific role in the new power structure has not yet been determined.

Lytvyn noted that the decision regarding the future position will be made personally by the President and Fedorov himself. "Not everything is decided in one day. I think the two of them will determine this," he emphasized. Meanwhile, Fedorov had previously publicly stated that he does not see himself in the position of Presidential Advisor or in other positions that were being discussed.

Reasons for Resignation and Public Reaction

The decision to dismiss Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defense was made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy due to communication problems between the Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. The President emphasized that Fedorov would remain "close by," but without specifying the details of his future role.

The resignation caused a wide resonance in Ukrainian society. Protest actions took place in various cities across the country and are continuing today. People are expressing disagreement with the President's decision and demanding explanations.

Who Will Take Fedorov's Place?

Initially, Zelenskyy planned to appoint the former Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, to the post of Minister of Defense. However, this proposal received no support from either the population or the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. As a result, Major General Yevhen Khmara, who previously served as Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, was appointed Acting Minister of Defense.

What's Next?

Currently, public attention is focused on what specific role Mikhail Fedorov will take in Zelenskyy's team. Whether it will be a new position, a consultative function, or some other form of participation remains a mystery for now. One thing is clear: the politician is not leaving the game and will continue to influence processes in the country.
