Poll Results: 72% of Ukrainians Do Not Support the Dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov

Large-scale sociological studies have been conducted in Ukraine, the results of which demonstrate a high level of public dissatisfaction with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision to replace the Minister of Defense. According to data obtained by the sociological group "Rating" (Rating Group), an overwhelming majority of respondents disagree with the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov.

Figures that speak for themselves

The poll showed that 72% of Ukrainians do not support Fedorov's dismissal. Only 5% of those surveyed expressed support for this personnel decision. A significant portion of citizens — 17% — stated that their position is neutral and they are indifferent to the event. Another 6% were unable to answer.

Reasons and circumstances of the dismissal

Last week, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense. The vacant position was filled by Yevhen Hmara, who previously served as the Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The President explained his decision as a necessity to establish effective interaction between the Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Zelenskyy, the parties were unable to build productive work without the direct involvement of the head of state, although their cooperation should be daily.

The position of the military and Fedorov himself

At the same time, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, refuted the existence of a conflict between him and Fedorov. He stated that only working disagreements arise between the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, which are resolved in the standard order.

Earlier, Mykhailo Fedorov himself reported that he had proposed to the President to change the military leadership, but his proposal was not supported. According to the minister, after this, the General Staff began to block the reforms he proposed. Sources from RBK-Ukraine report that Fedorov is ready to return to work only in the position of head of the Ministry of Defense.
