The night of July 18 to 19 became one of the heaviest for Kyiv in recent times. As a result of a large-scale Russian attack, during which 41 missiles and 125 attack drones were launched at Ukraine, one of the key manufacturers of military gear — the UKRTAC factory — suffered serious damage.
"The greatest tragedy" for the company
Company founder Severion Dangadze called what happened "the greatest tragedy in the entire history of UKRTAC" on his Facebook. According to him, as a result of a direct missile hit, the factory's production facilities and warehouses were completely destroyed.
UKRTAC is a well-known Ukrainian brand specializing in the production of individual ballistic protection: body armor, plate carriers, assault backpacks, and duffel bags. The loss of buildings and equipment has caused colossal material damage to the company.
People are the most important thing
Despite the catastrophic consequences of the strike, Dangadze emphasized the main point: no employees died. "It is impossible to destroy a team, its experience, and professional knowledge," he wrote, expressing confidence in the restoration of the enterprise.
"We do not give up. We will rebuild. We will continue to work. And we will do everything to make UKRTAC even stronger," the company founder assured.
Consequences of the night attack on Kyiv
The attack on Kyiv was part of a wider shelling of Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most targets, including almost all ballistic missiles, however, some missiles reached their targets. Damage to residential buildings and fires were recorded in several districts of the capital.
As of the morning of July 19, one person was killed and another 15 were injured as a result of the shelling. Details of the consequences of the strike are still being clarified.
