According to reports from specialized media, the 49-year-old man will serve as a military doctor in Odesa, at a medical facility located near the local Jewish community.

The incident sparked widespread public attention after Karlinsky, who arrived in Ukraine for the traditional pilgrimage for the Jewish New Year, was unable to return to Israel. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine explained the legal precedent: in addition to his Israeli passport, the man also holds Ukrainian citizenship, which under current martial law and restrictions on the departure of liable citizens served as the basis for his mobilization.
