Vyacheslav Grabovyi, the winner of the 10th season of the popular TV show "Zvazheni ta schaslyvi" (The Biggest Loser Ukraine), has shared details about his current condition for the first time in a while. A month after a horrific family tragedy that unfolded in late August in Odesa, the man published a video message from a medical facility where he continues to undergo treatment and rehabilitation.
Consequences of injuries and hospital life
On his social media channels, specifically in Instagram Stories, Vyacheslav showed footage from his hospital room. In the video, he is moving in a wheelchair, and one of the frames clearly shows his injured and heavily bandaged leg. Despite the severity of the ordeal and the wounds sustained, Grabovyi tries to maintain optimism; he told followers that after another painful dressing change, he managed to briefly leave his room for a cup of coffee and humorously commented on his daily routine in the hospital.
Chronicle of the tragedy in Odesa
As a reminder, in late August, a horrific incident shook the entire country in an apartment building in the Kyivskyi district of Odesa. Vyacheslav's brother opened fire with a hunting rifle at family members. As a result of the armed attack, the parents of both men were killed. The show's winner sustained severe gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance crew. After committing the crime, the attacker barricaded himself inside the apartment and committed suicide by shooting himself.
Support of loved ones and the path to recovery
Immediately after the tragedy, not only friends and acquaintances but the entire Ukraine worried about Vyacheslav's fate. Project trainer Marina Borzhemska was one of the first to publicly speak about the incident and urged the public to provide financial and moral support to the injured man, launching an official fundraiser to organize the parents' funeral and medical expenses. Later, Grabovyi personally contacted his supporters, expressing sincere gratitude for the help. Vyacheslav became widely known to the public thanks to his triumph in the 10th season of "Zvazheni ta schaslyvi", where he lost 104 kilograms.
