The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved one-time payments for Independence Day for certain categories of citizens. Decree No. 602, reported by RBC-Ukraine, defines the procedure for crediting funds and the amounts of benefits, which range from 450 to 3,100 UAH depending on the recipient's status.

Automatic crediting for pensioners

For pensioners and beneficiaries, the procedure for receiving assistance is maximally simplified. The money will be credited automatically and will arrive together with the regular pension in August. Citizens of this category will not need to submit additional applications or visit government institutions.

Payment procedure for military personnel

Funds will be transferred to the accounts of the military units of active-duty servicemen. The initiative comes from the command, which forms the corresponding applications for financial assistance for the personnel.

How other categories of citizens can receive the payment

Citizens who do not receive a pension and are not serving in the military must initiate the process of receiving funds themselves. To do this, you should contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine. An application can be submitted in several ways:

  • In person by visiting a service center or CNAP.
  • Online via the PFU web portal using a qualified electronic signature.

There is an important nuance for those who missed the main deadline: if the right to payment arose before August 24, but the money did not arrive by October 1, the citizen will be able to apply for them later.

Confirming work experience without an employment record book

In the context of pension issues, the topic of confirming work experience in the absence of an employment record book is relevant. Lawyers have clarified that the Pension Fund accepts archival certificates and other alternative documents. However, notarized witness testimonies obtained from abroad are usually not recognized in an administrative manner.

Possibility of retiring at age 50

Special attention should be paid to the category of women who have the right to early retirement. Mothers of five or more children, as well as mothers of children with disabilities from childhood, can apply for a pension as early as age 50. The only condition is having an insurance record of at least 15 years.
