Ukrainian actress Nadiia Hilska, known to viewers for the medical drama 'The Women's Doctor. New Life', gave a blitz interview to Styler (RБК-Україна). In it, she spoke about her character in the new season, the roles she turns down, her dream of playing Pronia Prokopivna, and what she currently wants most for herself and her family. Meanwhile, STB and FILM.UA Group have begun shooting the fourth season of the series, scheduled to premiere in 2027.
On the character and a difficult choice
In 'The Women's Doctor. New Life', Hilska's character faces a difficult choice. The actress herself, carefully avoiding spoilers, admitted that she would like to believe she would have acted differently in real life than her character did. According to Hilska, driven by hopelessness and a difficult situation, the character chooses a different path—not the one she herself would have chosen.
Historical cinema and Pronia Prokopivna
After working in 'Coffee with Cardamom', the actress does not shy away from historical roles; on the contrary, she dreams of them. She loves historical cinema for its beauty, costumes, and the opportunity to experience a completely different era. Learning that a film adaptation of 'Chasing Two Hares' is entering production, Hilska admitted she 'terribly wanted' to play Pronia Prokopivna. She recalled entering university with a monologue by this character and said it would be 'cool to goof around' in that role.
Vocals, 'Holos Krainy', and K-pop with her daughter
According to Hilska, viewers undeservedly know little about her vocal talents: in 2014, she participated in the 'Holos Krainy' show and made it quite far, and in Dnipro, she sang in a nightclub for 16 years. In Kyiv, she talks about singing less often. On free evenings, the actress sings along with her daughter, who has taken up K-pop and 'forces' her mother to perform these songs; Hilska notes with humor that this is 'heavy music' she is not used to. Together, they also hunt for new Georgian restaurants to eat khinkali.
Personal: peace of mind and life without fear
When asked about her main desire outside of her profession, Hilska said she wants peace of mind. She admitted that she worries about her daughter's condition, who is currently taking antidepressants, and called this period the most difficult in her life. The actress also expressed a desire to stop worrying about explosions and to build a life 'like many people around the world—without fear for it.' At the same time, she emphasized that she has learned to turn down roles that do not interest her, while work itself, she says, always gives her strength. In another recent interview with RBC-Ukraine, Hilska commented on her colleague Taras Tsymbaliuk, stating that she does not judge him and has no intention of 'remaking' him.
