The morning of July 31 became another test for the residents of the Kyiv region. Russian forces made a new attempt to strike the region using attack drones. However, Ukraine's air defense system reacted instantly, preventing catastrophic consequences.
Course of Events: From Alarm to Aftermath
According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the attack began in the early morning hours. Enemy drones were spotted over the region, and air defense forces immediately opened fire. Thanks to the operational actions of the military, the main targets were shot down, which allowed for the preservation of civilian lives and avoided large-scale destruction of infrastructure.
Material Damage and Local Incidents
Despite the successful repulsion of the attack, some damage was still recorded:
- In the Brovary district, debris damaged a private residential house, two cars, and buildings of one of the industrial enterprises.
- In the Vyshhorod district, fallen fragments caused a fire in the grass cover. Rescue services quickly localized and extinguished the fire.
Fortunately, there were no casualties among the population. Operational groups continue to work at the sites to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
New Wave of Alarm
The situation in the region remains tense. Around 12:03, an air raid alarm was sounded again in the Brovary and Boryspil districts, indicating a continuing threat from the air.
Earlier reports stated that Russian forces also attempted to attack Kyiv on the morning of July 31, as well as striking the Vinnytsia region. On the night of July 31, Ukraine's air defense successfully repelled similar attempts at invasion.
