On the night of July 15, Kyiv was subjected to a new missile attack. As a result of the strikes, fires were recorded in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital, as well as damage to an educational institution.
Consequences of strikes in the Holosiivskyi district
In the Holosiivskyi district, a warehouse building caught fire as a result of a hit. Fire services arrived at the scene promptly and extinguished the fire. There are no reports of casualties at this location.
Situation in the Darnytskyi district
In the Darnytskyi district, cars caught fire in an open area. The fire was also extinguished by emergency services. Signs of powerful impact are visible at the scene: burnt remains of vehicles and a crater from the strike.
Damage to the boarding school
Particular attention is drawn to an incident that occurred in the area of one of the boarding schools. A crater from a strike was found at one of the locations. The windows of the main building and the auxiliary building of the educational institution were damaged. There was no fire inside the building itself, however, damage was inflicted on the infrastructure.
Additional incidents
Debris falling was recorded at two other addresses in the city. One fell into the courtyard of an apartment building, the other into the courtyard of a private house. In both cases, no fires occurred, however, the fact of debris falling indicates the scale of the attack.
Context: series of strikes on the capital
This is not the first attack on Kyiv by ballistic missiles in the last week. On the night of July 14, the city was shelled, and even earlier, on July 11, Russian forces struck the capital with ballistic missiles even before the official air raid alert was declared. For the first time, such a situation, where strikes were carried out without warning, occurred on the night of July 8.
The situation remains tense. Emergency services continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the night attack and assessing the damage.
