On the night of September 1, 2026, Kyiv Oblast came under a massive strike by the Russian armed forces. As Timur Tkachenko reported, a five-story residential building was damaged in Boryspil as a result of a strike. Cars on the parking lot next to the building caught fire — the blaze has been extinguished, however, footage from the scene shows foam-covered firefighters against a backdrop of flames. 48 people were urgently evacuated from the damaged building. In addition to residential buildings, an enterprise was hit: one person was killed at the facility and another was injured. All the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.

That same night, explosions were also heard in Kyiv itself. According to available data, Russian forces attacked the capital comprehensively — using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and reconnaissance drones. Tkachenko emphasized that the enemy is deliberately striking civilian facilities and residential buildings, which indicates the systematic nature of the attacks on civilian infrastructure.

The Boryspil district has repeatedly come under attack in recent weeks. On August 22, the Russians struck the district with ballistic missiles. An even heavier attack occurred on August 20, when food warehouses and facilities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Boryspil were hit — 13 people were killed at that time. The repetition of strikes on the same district at intervals of a few days indicates that the infrastructure and civilian facilities of the Boryspil district remain a priority target for the Russian side.
