On the night of September 17, 2026, Russia struck Odesa. According to Sergei Lyssak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, the attack damaged a 19-story residential building, several private homes — one of which was destroyed — as well as elements of the city's infrastructure. Scale of the damage
As clarified by the city military administration, in addition to the high-rise building, a private residential house was completely destroyed in another part of the city, and another one was damaged. Damage to the city's infrastructure has also been recorded. A number of sources indicate that a drone flew into the residential building, however, in Lyssak's official statement the type of weapon used is not specified, leaving some details to be clarified later.
Casualties
Six people were injured as a result of the night attack, including two children. Work to eliminate the consequences of the strike is ongoing at the scene, including the closing of shattered windows. Operational headquarters are operating for residents, where they can receive the necessary assistance and information on further actions.
Not the first strike this night
It is important to note that the September 17 attack was not the first one for Odesa this night. Earlier the same day, Russia had already struck the city, damaging a high-rise residential building, with a child among the injured. Thus, within a single day the city was subjected to at least two attacks, sharply increasing the load on emergency services.

It is worth recalling that on September 12, as a result of a Russian night strike on Odesa, a high-rise residential building was severely damaged; there were also casualties then, and subsequently the body of a deceased person was found under the rubble of that building. Repeated strikes on residential quarters make the situation in the city extremely tense and underscore the systematic nature of the attacks on civilian infrastructure.

On the facts concerning Odesa itself, the versions of the sources converge: a 19-story building was damaged, a private house was destroyed, six people were injured, including two children. Discrepancies are observed in the figures for other cities during the same night: tvrain.tv reports 12 injured in Kyiv, while esp.md indicates 18 wounded. In addition, the type of weapon used against Odesa is not named in official statements, while some media outlets describe it as a drone. These discrepancies require further clarification and do not affect the confirmed data on Odesa.
