Nova Poshta group of companies has implemented a private air defense project to protect its infrastructure and has already recorded successful intercepts of Shahed-type attack drones. This was announced by the co-owner of the Nova group of companies, Vyacheslav Klymov, during his speech at the 12th Kyiv International Economic Forum, emphasizing that business is beginning to assume previously uncharacteristic security functions.
Development of private security initiatives
According to Vyacheslav Klymov, the company is among the few representatives of Ukrainian business that have been able to implement a full-scale private air defense project. The management decided not to disclose exact quantitative indicators of successful intercepts for security reasons, but the fact of effective work has been officially confirmed. The creation of such units allows large corporations to minimize risks for logistics hubs and employees amidst regular air attacks.
Integration with state forces and experience of other companies
Experts note that private air defense in Ukraine remains isolated precedents requiring significant financial investments. Representatives of interceptor system developers emphasize that any private initiatives must coordinate their positions with the military command, as autonomous operation without coordination is impossible. In addition, modern technological solutions involve the use of interceptor drones, turrets, and electronic warfare equipment capable of engaging targets at a considerable distance.
Formation of corporate firefighting services
In addition to air defense, Nova Poshta is developing its own fire crews to respond promptly to the consequences of shelling. As the company's co-owner noted, employees on the ground independently extinguish a significant portion of fires at production facilities without waiting for the arrival of state SES rescuers. Currently, large Ukrainian enterprises are actively looking for specialized equipment in European countries to expand their fleet of emergency rescue vehicles.
Significance of private protection for the Ukrainian economy
The transition of large corporations to the creation of their own air defense and firefighting systems marks a new stage in business adaptation to the conditions of a protracted conflict. Investments in private security are becoming a critical factor for the uninterrupted operation of supply chains and the preservation of jobs. Such decentralization of protection functions reduces the burden on state structures and demonstrates the high resilience of Ukrainian entrepreneurship in the face of modern challenges.
