On Sunday, November 8, Russian troops once again launched strikes on Odesa. According to information published on Telegram by Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, one person was killed as a result of the shelling, and a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of a food warehouse. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine.
Strike on the Food Warehouse
According to Kiper, in the morning, Russian forces hit a food storage facility. It is noted that this target had previously been targeted by the enemy, which indicates the systemic nature of strikes against the region's warehouse infrastructure. Following the new strike, a major fire started on the warehouse premises, requiring the deployment of forces and resources to localize and extinguish the blaze.
Casualties and Other Damaged Objects
According to the head of the RMA, no reports of casualties resulting directly from the strike on the warehouse have been received. At the same time, an administrative building and an abandoned non-residential premises were also hit. Overall, as a result of the shelling, one death was recorded. Work to eliminate the consequences of the strike is ongoing at the impact sites, involving relevant emergency rescue and municipal services.
Context: Repeated Attacks on Odesa Suburbs
The attack on November 8 was a continuation of a series of strikes on facilities near the city. To recall, on November 4, Russian troops launched three drone attacks on warehouse facilities at the "7th Kilometer" market in the Odesa suburbs. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out, two cars were destroyed, and one person was injured. In addition, on the same night, a shopping center was hit, where a fire also broke out. The repeated targeting of the warehouse facility indicates that storage and distribution infrastructure remains a priority target for the enemy.
