Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova publicly announced a painful loss — her dog Mimi, who had been part of the artist's family for many years, has passed away. The star shared the sad news in her Instagram stories, publishing a photo of her beloved pet and confessing that she still cannot believe what happened.

Circumstances of the Tragedy

According to Polyakova, the tragedy unfolded during an ordinary walk: Mimi went out for a stroll but did not come home that day. The animal only reappeared a day later — and in extremely poor condition. "She came back all bitten. We couldn't save her," the singer stated with pain. The veterinarians, she said, were unable to save the animal.

The Artist Was Abroad

Polyakova separately noted that at the time of the tragedy she herself was abroad and could not be by her beloved pet's side. "Our Mimi is gone. I can't believe it," she wrote on social media. For the artist, Mimi was not just a pet but a beloved member of the family, whose everyday moments she had often shared with her followers.

Appeal to Pet Owners

After Mimi's death, the singer addressed other dog owners, urging them to take responsible care of their pets' health and safety and not to postpone their sterilization. This appeal became part of her farewell post, in which she shared her grief over the loss with her audience.

Media Reaction

News of the pet's loss was quickly picked up by Ukrainian media: the singer's post was commented on by the outlets Wave RBC.UA, Fakty.com.ua, 24tv, and Korrespondent, which relayed the artist's words that Mimi could not be saved. The materials emphasize that for Polyakova the loss became a personal drama that she chose not to hide from her fans.
