The educational platform Education.ua has published a ranking of online schools in Ukraine, compiled based on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) 2025. The leader among the country's online institutions is the private online school "Optima," which scored 148.01 ranking points. The top five also includes Veselivska District Multi-Profile Gymnasium, Liko Education Online, GoITeens School, and Kebeta online. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, novosti.ua, and gazeta.ua, citing the ranking data.

Scale as the Key Factor of Leadership

The fundamental difference between "Optima" and its competitors lies not in the performance of a small group of strong graduates, but in the size of the sample. If 8 students took the NMT at Kebeta online, 10 at GoITeens School, and 25 at Liko Education Online, then 1,825 graduates took the test at "Optima," completing a total of 7,214 tests. Other online institutions did not make the comparison, as the number of test-takers there did not exceed 6–7 people. Thus, the school's first place reflects the average academic result of a large number of students, rather than an outlier of individual applicants.

Position in the All-Ukrainian Context

According to the 2025 NMT results, the "Optima" Education Center ranked 6th among all schools in Ukraine and 3rd among institutions in Kyiv on the Osвіta.ua portal ranking. This comparison accounts for the performance of 1,957 participants who completed a total of 7,300 tests — the highest number of completed exams among all educational institutions in the country. The portal's methodology takes the sample size into account: 85% of the ranking score is formed by the average NMT result, while 15% is an adjustment for the total number of tests taken.

Private and Public Institutions: A Nuance of Categories

Among specialized private online schools, "Optima" holds the lead. The public Veselivska District Multi-Profile Gymnasium, although listed on the Education.ua platform in the online learning category, is not a specialized private institution. Therefore, in the segment of purely private online schools, "Optima" holds an undisputed first place, confirming that an online educational institution is capable of delivering an academic result on par with the strongest schools in the country.

Contradictory Data

The sources note a slight discrepancy in the sample figures: according to the Education.ua ranking, there are 1,825 graduates and 7,214 tests, while the Osвіta.ua ranking lists 1,957 participants and 7,300 tests. The difference is explained by the different calculation methodologies and the coverage of the two independent platforms; however, both sources unanimously confirm "Optima's" leadership and its record scale among online schools. In addition, regarding the interpretation of the top five, there is a question about the status of the Veselivska Gymnasium: formally it is included in the overall online learning ranking, but in the segment of private specialized online schools its result is not taken into account, which gives rise to two versions of "leadership" — overall and private.

Conclusion for Parents and the Online Education Market

The 2025 NMT rankings show that the quality of online education in Ukraine is measured not by marketing claims but by the results of thousands of graduates. The combination of sample scale and a high academic indicator makes "Optima's" position unique in the market. For families looking for a strong modern Ukrainian school regardless of place of residence, the published data become one of the most compelling pieces of evidence of the effectiveness of the online format.
