The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds citizens of their strict obligation to timely inform the agency about any changes in personal or employment data. Citizens are given exactly 10 calendar days from the date of the relevant circumstances to submit a notification. Violating this deadline may lead to a recalculation of payments or a demand to return illegally received funds to the state.

Legislative Requirements and Notification Deadlines

According to Article 16 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance," every pensioner is obliged to promptly inform the PFU about all changes that may affect their status, data in the personal accounting card, or the final amount of payments. This list includes taking a job, dismissal, changing passport data, or other legally significant events. The ten-day period established by law is mandatory for all categories of pension recipients.

Employment Risks and Pension Overpayments

The most common financial risk is associated with the employment of pensioners. Certain allowances and increases are legislatively provided exclusively for non-working citizens. If a pensioner takes a job but fails to notify the agency in time, a situation of unduly paid funds arises. Subsequently, the Pension Fund has the legal right to demand the return of the overpaid amount through established administrative or judicial procedures.

Specific Rules for Length-of-Service Pensions

Separate strict rules regulate the payment of length-of-service pensions. If a recipient of such a pension gets a job in a position that gives the right to a similar type of provision, the payment is temporarily suspended for the entire employment period. This norm also applies to those citizens who have already reached the general retirement age but continue to hold specific specialized positions.

Ways to Submit Information to the Pension Fund

For the convenience of citizens, the PFU offers two main ways to transmit up-to-date data. The first option is to apply in person at any nearest service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine with a package of supporting documents. The second option is to use modern digital tools and submit an application online through the official web portal of electronic services of the PFU using a qualified electronic signature.

Action Plan and Dispute Prevention

To avoid unpleasant financial disputes and the need to return money, experts recommend submitting documents in advance or immediately after a status change. Copies of the work book, orders for employment or dismissal, and certificates of registration of entrepreneurial activity must be attached to the application. Timely information guarantees the stability of pension payments and the absence of claims from regulatory authorities.
